Field Day has been rescheduled for Friday, May 16th, in the a.m. due to a not-so-great weather forecast tomorrow.

  Second...
Monarch Madness has hit our room!  Each of our five caterpillars have turned into their chrysalis and now the waiting (12 or so days) begins...If you are interested in viewing a time-lapsed video of one of our caterpillars, please go the home page of our blog and look for "Monarch Madness" in the list of links on the left hand side.  It's pretty interesting :).

    Third...BIG NEWS!
The variety show will be next Thursday afternoon, May 8th,  at 12:30pm and also in the evening at 6:30pm in Pioneer.  We are excited that our own Harry Cornell will be performing on the violin!

      Fourth...
Our last day to check out books from our library is May 9th!  Thank you to Mrs. Doyle for helping out with library time all year!  

         Fifth...
Wizard Walk forms are due by next Friday, May 9th.  You can turn them in anytime before then.  We will see you at Family Fun Night on May 15th!

            Sixth...
Our first graders will be participating in our first FIRST GRADE FINALE on Friday, May 30th, from 2:30-3:15pm.  Mark your calendars!  You are invited to join us in the Pioneer Auditorium for this fun event.  We will be explaining the performance options to all the first graders tomorrow morning and they will be bringing home a note with more details (including ways you can help if you'd like to get involved).    

               Seventh....
Yes, the moment you've been waiting for...the LAST IXL CALENDAR is now posted for your child's math enjoyment!  You can find the May calendar in the list of links on the home page of the blog (see IXL calendars). We are moving into measurement for the next two weeks and then onward into double digit addition & subtraction!

                  And finally...
Congratulations to Ruby's family on the birth of her new little brother, Ethan, last Friday!  Mr. Morey is expecting his new little one to arrive on May 5th.  Mrs. Siegel will be in charge of the building while Mr. Morey takes the week to be with his family.
