Zachary brought brownies to school for snack today!
(get it...brown E's??)
Thanks to the Wurl family for a great April Fool's Day joke...we loved it! :)
These two weeks have been such a celebration of your children's accomplishments!
Thank you for coming to conferences on Tuesday and Thursday evening. After Spring Break, we will be getting ready for 2nd grade! You can send your child into the school on his/her own or walk them in, give them a quick hug and kiss right away and then enjoy the beautiful spring days! Please leave them with all their gear. They will be working on independence in the hallway, getting more efficient at putting their things away on their own and entering the classroom ready to go!
April 16th
Our last swimming day is Thursday, April 16th, from 2:00-3:15 in the afternoon. Please bring swimsuit, googles (if desired) and a towel in a plastic bag on Thursday morning!
April 20th
Thank you for all that have volunteered for our field trip to Meijer Gardens on April 20th. I will be sending out an email to those volunteered ASAP. If you do not receive an email, but would still like to come, please contact me as soon as you can.
These past two weeks in review...
We've continued our weather observations by making a rain gauge to measure precipitation. Thankfully, we had one rainy morning last week to help us out! We found evidence that air is actually all around us, even though it is invisible, when we observed the wind. We used our thermometers to determine whether or not the temperature is the same in all places on the playground. On Wednesday, we had two volunteers from the Red Cross come to talk to us about what do to if severe weather happens. Packets from the Red Cross will be coming home in folders on Thursday.
Our math time has been focused on breaking down numbers into tens & ones. We worked on larger numbers, specifically writing numbers 100-120. We are now into comparing numbers, using the familiar symbols of greater than > and less than<.
Have a safe and happy break!
