We finish this week with a look at Martin Luther King, Jr.'s ideas of being bold, making good choices to help others in a fair and equal way. We will participate in a silent march around the school campus Monday morning and finish with a short assembly in Pioneer. We've talked this week about helping others, sitting with different friends at lunchtime and playing with different friends at recess time. Encouraging your child to reach out to those that they might not know as well--by eating and/or playing with them at school or home--will help them feel bold and more comfortable with everyone.
- Scholastic Book order forms for January/February are coming home today in your child's folder. Please return these by next Thursday if you plan to order (or order online).
- Book bag books are coming home without books this week and next! Please read a book at home TO your child, read a book TOGETHER, or have him/her read to YOU! Ask a comprehension question from the white sheet and you or your first grader can write it down. You only need to fill out one book per line (five books all together will finish the front/back of the page).
- As a fellow parent in this fantastic school district, I would urge you to take a vested interest in upcoming decisions made in regards to our upcoming school budget. Our next school board meeting is January 26th. The board will discuss our budget and the necessary measures to keep our fund balance in the positive. Board meetings are open to the public and begin at 6pm at the Woodcliff Administration Building on Hall Street.
- Remember...there is no school next Friday!
